Tripser ("Tripser", "we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the Tripser mobile application and related services (the "Service").

1. Data Controller

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information when you use the Service:

• Account Information — name, email address, username, phone number, country, date of birth, profile photo
• Travel & Trip Information — trips and itineraries, saved places, travel notes, uploaded images, passport stamp records, packing lists, budget and expense data
• Location Information — approximate or precise location, map interactions, location-based travel recommendations (can be disabled in device settings)
• Social Information — followers, following lists, direct messages, feed interactions (likes, comments), shared trips
• Usage Information — app interactions, feature usage, performance diagnostics, crash reports
• Device Information — device model, operating system, device identifiers, language settings
• Payment Information — Processed through Apple's App Store. Tripser does not collect or store payment card details.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data where necessary to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Perform contractual obligations
• Improve functionality and security
• Comply with legal obligations
• Pursue legitimate interests

Where required by law, we may request explicit user consent.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate core app functionality (trip planning, itineraries, budgets, packing lists)
• Generate on-device AI-powered travel suggestions and itineraries
• Provide real-time messaging and social features
• Enable trip sharing and collaboration
• Deliver weather forecasts for trip destinations
• Manage subscriptions and premium features
• Send push notifications for messages and social activity
• Improve performance and maintain security

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Information Sharing

• With Other Users — publicly shared content (trips, activities, profile information) may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings.
• With Service Providers — Firebase (authentication, database, storage, push notifications), OpenWeatherMap (weather forecasts), Apple Sign-In (authentication), Google Sign-In (optional authentication).
• Legal Requirements — to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, protect safety and rights.

6. AI & Automated Processing

AI-powered features (travel suggestions, itinerary planning, packing lists, photo analysis, and translation) are processed entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence. No personal data is sent to external AI services. AI processing occurs locally on your device and your prompts, photos, and travel data remain private.

There is no automated decision-making with legal effects. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should be independently verified.

7. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored using Firebase Authentication, Firestore database, and Firebase Cloud Storage. Images are compressed and resized before upload to minimize storage usage. Security measures include encrypted communication (TLS), secure authentication (including Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In), restricted access controls, and infrastructure monitoring. No absolute security guarantee can be provided.

8. Data Retention

Data is retained while your account is active. On account deletion, data is deleted or anonymized within approximately 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal obligations, disputes, agreements, or fraud prevention.

9. Location Data

Location data is used for travel recommendations, Apple Maps navigation, route planning, weather forecasts, and passport stamp functionality. Location data is processed using Apple MapKit and CoreLocation frameworks and is not shared with third-party services. Location data is not shared with other users. Location access can be disabled via your device settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Tripser is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent.

If we become aware that personal data has been collected from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as reasonably possible.

Parents or guardians who believe that their child has provided personal data to Tripser may contact us to request deletion of such information.

11. Cookies & Tracking

Tripser does not use cookies or third-party ad trackers. Limited diagnostic data may be processed for service operation.

12. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed internationally via Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure). AI features are processed on-device and do not involve international data transfers. Tripser takes reasonable steps to comply with applicable data protection laws.

13. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, delete, or export your personal data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Disable push notifications or location permissions via device settings
• Delete your account and all associated data through the in-app account deletion feature

Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
